You Can't Stop the Beat - 50 Golden Years of Spittal Variety Group archiveTo celebrate their 50th Anniversary year of stage productions, Spittal Variety Group (SVG) present a compilation of pantomimes, musicals and variety shows from the past 50 years. In January as part of its 50th anniversary, SVG presented the glittering pantomime Cinderella, the first pantomime the group produced back in 1963. Throughout its history SVG has produced 49 pantomimes, 19 musicals and 13 variety shows to entertain the people of Berwick Borough in St John's Hall, Spittal, then at The Berwick Playhouse and now on stage at The Maltings Theatre. Join SVG for a special evening aboard the Showboat, stopping off at Brigadoon, Oklahoma and South Pacific, and if we're lucky we'll catch a glimpse of Finian's Rainbow. Bring along The Boyfriend and My Fair Lady. Who knows, Annie, Oliver, Gigi and Calamity Jane may be there. Me and My Girl will definitely make it and hopefully Annie won't get her gun! But remember, Anything Goes during an evening of singing and dancing you won't want to miss.
