Grupo Giramundo] have redefined puppetry in Brazil and are now one of the world's most innovative companies. Their productions of traditional and classic tales - including The Magic Flute, Ubu Roi and The Diary of a Madman - have toured the globe to great acclaim. Cobra Norato (Norato the Snake) is a wonderful example of Giramundo's magical staging but also a fascinating introduction to some traditional Brazilian storytelling and music. Based on Raul Bopp's rich 1920s poem it tells of the travels of Norato, born half Amerindian and half snake, who wanders the world with his friend Tatu the armadillo and African. Cobra Norato is a sophisticated production suitable for all ages 8 yrs and above.
