Mimi Khalvati was born in Tehran and educated on the Isle of Wight, in Switzerland and London. She has worked as an actress and a director in Tehran and more recently she co-founded the Theatre in Exile. She has been a poet in residence at the Royal Mail and is co-ordinator of the Poetry School. Her latest collection, The Chine, takes its title from a geographical feature on the Isle of Wight and explores childhood places and family themes, as well as making connections between love in all its forms and the art of poetry.
