Cult punk poet Billy Childish performs his explosive poetry, accompanied by rhythm and blues guitar. Some language may offend. Billy Childish has published more than 40 collections of verse. His poetry is by turns base, spiritual, funny and devastatingly honest, and for this event he will read a number of pieces from across his career. The evening will also feature a less well-known aspect of Childish’s output; in 2002 he formed the Chatham Super-8 Cinema, a group of friends that produce short films with a second-hand camera purchased at Rochester Flea Market. Tonight we will screen a number of their recent works.
