An adult adaptation of The Little Mermaid. La Petite Mort is an absorbing adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's tragic fairy story of a young mermaid who has fallen in love with a human. In exchange for her tongue, she is granted mortality, but with one cruel proviso - her love must be returned. Swathed in a dreamlike atmosphere, with startling visuals such as rope-bound mermaids suspended from scaffolding, La Petite Mort evokes the universal themes of lust, passion and betrayal. Featuring an all-female cast, singing, aerial work, dance and drama rich with romantic imagery, this breathtaking production is a powerful performance.
