Details

The story of the strange romance between William Beckford, builder and collector, of Bath - and Gregorio Franchi, musician, of Lisbon. Set in Lisbon 1787, an English mi'lord meets a local choirboy. Back in England, piqued by ostracism, Beckford builds towering folly Fonthill Abbey. Can their relationship survive? Fonthill's tower didn't.
