After Euripides' Iphigenia in Tauris. Goethe's spare and precise drama follows Iphigenia's endeavour to free her family from the curse that has killed so many for generations. Ultimately a celebration of the creative power of the human mind and will, the play offers a surprisingly modern view on the responsibility of the individual in the shadow of one's own Gods.
