Details
Set in present day Glasgow. Three Thousand Troubled Threads tells the story of Ying. A young second generation Chinese woman stranded between cultural identities. As Ying rejects her mother's preoccupation with the past and tradition, her search for love, freedom and a place to belong increasingly isolates her from the people that surround her; eventually leaving her behind in the place she calls "home". Three Thousand Troubled Threads is a colourful play which examines friendship, identity, freedom and communication in an increasingly multicultural society. The realisation of Ying's tale will integrate projection of filmed sequences with live action and will incorporate the many languages the characters bring to her story.
