Three Heads in the Well is a funny, magical Essex tale for the whole family set amid the beautiful surroundings of the country's most picturesque venues from Hadleigh Castle to the Harwich Redoubt. Join two stepsisters as they embark on a fantastic adventure meeting hermits, dragons, magic bushes and three disembodied heads that live in a well. Soaked in Essex folklore and history, Three Heads in the Well reflects on what it is to live in Essex today, using comedy, drama, music, mime and puppetry. Bring a picnic, a blanket (and perhaps a brolly!) and enjoy the perfect summer treat in glorious surroundings. The Mercury Theatre Company, recently described by the New York Times as a 'stellar ensemble', has devised this original play as part of INSITE, a new cultural tourism programme that aims to promote Essex, making it a leading cultural destination in the east of England.
