Details
A compelling courtroom drama in which a gardener is accused of grave-robbing, removing and hiding the body of Jesus of Nazareth between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Both Prosecuting and Defending Counsel call a parade of witnesses including Mary Magdalene, Pontius Pilate, Joseph of Arimathea, Saul of Tarsus and Simon Peter. The play succeeds in making a striking modern parallel with the events described particularly when Pilate appears in the witness box to discuss the problems of a colonial governor. The audience is the jury and must make up its own mind at the end of the play.
