Details
The story of love, loss, patriotism, tragedy and great bravery for Remembrance Sunday. In August 1914, large numbers of men from Winster, and the other towns and villages of the Derbyshire Dales, responded to the call to go to war. This local look at the Great War is the story of the well known, like Vera Brittain from Buxton and the unknown, like Horace Johnson of Winster. A poignant and touching combination of songs, reminiscences and the affecting words of the great war poets Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen.
