Details
A fairy-tale treat for families, Hans Christian Andersen's classic children's tale of adventure, friendship and bravery. Once, a wicked goblin made an evil mirror. When you looked into it, everything good and beautiful appeared worthless and bad. Then, the mirror was broken into a million pieces. Some got into people's eyes and, for them, the world became an ugly place. Even worse, some got into people's hearts and turned them into lumps of ice. That's what happens to Kai. Now he isn't happy with his home, his grandmother or his best friend, Gerda. He flies away to live with the Snow Queen in her icy palace far away in Lapland. Heartbroken, Gerda sets off alone across the wide world to find him, helped by the little robber girl, the crow and the reindeer. Gerda’s indomintable spirit takes her across magical frozen landscapes to rescue her friend from the icy clutches of the Snow Queen. A spine-tingling treat for both children and adults, The Snow Queen is packed with this Italian company’s renowned mix of physical performance, breathtaking aerial acrobatics, dance, music, and deliciously inventive storytelling. Performed in English. Most suitable for ages 7 to adult. Original version produced by Setagaya Public Theatre, Tokyo. UK tour produced in assiciation with Warwick Arts Centre.
