Details
Based on a story by Charles Dickens. A curious traveller encounters a lonely, isolated worker in a dark and dismal railway cutting. The man appears strangely troubled; is it his isolation and the tedium of his job that is playing with his mind? Or is there a presence haunting the gloom around the danger light and the black mouth of that oppressive and forbidding tunnel? In a Creation first, we'll be performing at the stunning Wesley Memorial Church, right in the centre of Oxford on New Inn Hall Street. The show promises to be a spookily atmospheric retelling of Dickens' semi-autobiographical ghost story. Adapted and Directed by Jonathan Holloway (whose productions for Creation include 1984, Brave New World and Don Quixote) the show will deliver a startling and deliciously disconcerting experience that is both literate and a crowd pleaser characterised by committed performances and genuinely chilling images. (We urge caution regarding under 10's, who may find some of the words and images challenging).
