The Man Who Would be King archiveAlone in a foreign country, locked inside a sweltering, cluttered office, a man waits for news; something, anything that he can report back home. Finally, in the dead of night, a wild-eyed stranger arrives with a story to tell; a story of greed, adventure and ruin that will turn his world upside down. This is the story of Peachy Callahan and Daniel Dravot; soldiers-for-hire in the shifting borders of the Middle East. Tired of the mercenary life, Peachy and Daniel have come up with a plan; head for northern Afghanistan, enslave the natives, and install themselves as kings.
