The Last Harvest archiveIt's the end of the harvest, but is it the end of the world? Staged at a brand new earth amphitheatre in Shropshire built in response to Covid-19, The Last Harvest will take audiences on a fire-lit journey from the future to now in a dystopian outdoor promenade spectacle. The show is the latest instalment of MELT, a three year environmental epic in response to the climate crisis in partnership with the University of Hull. It's the first show NYT have staged for live in-person audiences, after an extensive programme of online work over the last six months. Sustainable farmer Tim Ashton built The Sanctuary Theatre, which will host The Last Harvest, at Soulton Hall farm as a response to the struggles highlighted in the arts industry as a result of COVID-19 and is campaigning for other farmers to do the same in a nationwide movement. The Last Harvest is part of Signal Fires, which this autumn will see the UK's leading touring theatre companies share stories around fires. The production will take place under strict Covid-secure guidelines.
