Details
In 1943, the villagers of Tyneham in south Dorset were told they must leave their homes "in order to give our troops the fullest opportunity to perfect their training". They never returned and their ancient community became a ghost village.
The Ghosts of Tyneham is a new devised play telling the story of an unexplained tragedy that strikes on the day before the exodus. Years after the war, the ghosts of the villagers finally return to their ruined homes and unite to solve the mystery of the missing bridesmaid. This haunting story brings together the imaginations of the talented young actors of Act One and uses physical theatre, puppetry, live music and storytelling to create a new legend for the ghost village of Tyneham.
