When the plantation owner, Mr Walker, kills a penniless street beggar trying to court his daughter, he's haunted to the grave and into the spirit world beyond - to a point where carnival is his only option. Set in a cartoon world, The Evocation of Papa Mas is a love story and a mischievous parody which is sometimes surreal, sometimes beautiful and poignant, yet shocking and raucously funny at the same time.
