Following the amorous intrigues and ultimate downfall of Billy Dimple in the eternal triangle of love, fashion and shopping, 'The Contrast' at last claims its place alongside such classic comedies of the period, such as 'The School for Scandal' and 'The Rivals'. The British premiere of the first play written by an American citizen in 1787.
