Details
The play takes the form of a pilgrimage around the body, where time shifts backwards and forwards and a gypsy chorus waits at the corner of each century. Here we encounter Fernando and Isabel (of conquistador and Inquisition infamy), their daughter, the 'mad' Queen Juana La Loca, (imprisoned in a tower ofr 46 years before her death, she dragged the coffin of her dead husband 'Philip the Fair' around the Castilian plains for a full year before it could be torn from her grasp) and her son The Holy Roman Emperor CharlesV, who took the crown of Spain, The Hapsburg Empire and the Americas, yet died in poverty, the last and loneliest of his empire.
