Soldiering On is the tale of a well-to-do woman who finds one day that she's a widow and her husband has left her ill equipped to handle her own affairs - and her son loses her money in bad investments. Soldiering On - Newly bereaved but stoical Muriel confronts the future and finds that her husband was less than an ideal father and her beloved son is less than honest. A Chip in the Sugar - Middle-aged bachelor Graham lives with his eccentric mother. Their happy life is threatened by the arrival of an old flame from his mother's past, who sweeps her off for days out and chip suppers.
