Two young friends are bed bound in a private hospital ward. James, terminally ill with leukaemia, knows he will never leave his bed. He also knows that his best placebo is Freddy, who has undergone intensive heart surgery. They don't lead normal lives but that doesn't mean they aren't normal. In a white washed world of boredom, industrial disinfectant and bed baths, Freddy and James discover that their best placebo is each other and that friendship is stronger than any medication. This heart-warming story shares an intimate snapshot of their lives on a seemingly quiet afternoon that changes their lives forever.
