Swan Song archiveSvetlidova, an aging comic actress, stumbles out onto the boards and realizes she has fallen asleep in her dressing room, now the stage is empty, the show over, and the audience long gone. Once a great artist, but now a confirmed drunk, she looks death in the face and gives her greatest performances by acting as Medea, Salome, Lady Macbeth, Ophelia and makes an amazing combination of these characters and her own as an old clown. She reminiscences about her life and discovers the past and present somehow remain intact but only on the stage. An ambitious new adaptation of one of Chekhov's most poignant texts.
