English artist, Peter Meredith, lives in the lush and beautiful countryside of Provence. Sharing his home and his life is young and trusting Suzy. Soon their peaceful idyll will be crushed. Suzy finds out that she has been betrayed. Peter is not the man he pretends to be. What is his real name? What dreadful secret is he concealing? Is he a ruthless killer on the run and is her own life in deadly danger? The arrival of Ross, a Scotland Yard detective, sets wheels into motion that don't stop turning and twisting until a terrible murder is committed.
