Former grocery delivery boy Julian King pours everything he's got into singing on Britain's number one TV talent contest "Star Quality" - until he learns that the much-milked story of his father's death is an insurance scam and flees the show. Persuaded by corner shop owner Miss Lavender to bury his doubts, Julian returns just in time to drive the audience crazy with his contest-winning rendition of Hallelujah. Yet all is not what it seems... This is an entertaining theatrical ride that combines the best of Saturday night TV with a cloistered world where something uncanny is going on.
