September in the Rain archiveJack and Liz are in Blackpool for one last time. John Godber's classic play tells the touching and humorous story of a marriage through a lifetime of annual September holidays together. Loosely based on Godber's own Yorkshire grandparents, September in the Rain is a nostalgic wander down the rain-sodden streets and beaches of Blackpool in its heyday as Jack and Liz guide us gently back through their various September holidays spent in the famous British resort : the cramped boarding houses, sitting on the beach with trousers rolled up and socks pulled up even further, and of course climbing the famous Blackpool tower.
