Details
A dramatisation of poems by Edson Burton, documenting a journey through the African Diaspora experience. 'Seasoning' is a term for a process which involved slaves being 'familiarised' with plantation routines and discipline and taught to use tools that they may not have used before.
Seasoned examines multiple forms of alienation - gender, race, self - told through a new experiment in dramatized poetry performance. Dr Edson Burton is a regular performer on the South West poetry scene. His work for BBC Radio 4 includes the plays The Armour Of Immanuel and Corner. This script-in-hand premiere is part of the Ustinov’s Script Factory season.
