Details
Everyone knows of Satan 'The Dark Lord', but Satan Sings Mostly Sondheim tells the story of Satan the multi-talented, award-winning singer/dancer/actor who came to Earth in the early 1960s because he was very excited about what was happening in the world of musical theatre. It is a chronicle of Satan's desperate attempt to secure the rights to Sondheim's music for a one-night musical extravaganza at the London Palladium. With the help of his New York manager, Robert Schifrin, Satan attempts to sing, dance and schmooze his way into Sondheim's heart - a difficult task, as Sondheim is sceptical of having his name associated with Satan. The producers of the show wish to make it absolutely clear that the show contains no music by Stephen Sondheim and is not endorsed by Stephen Sondheim or anyone who knows him.
