Saint Oscar archiveSaint Oscar is an intensely intelligent, often hilarious account of Oscar Wilde's richly undeserved martyrdom. Effortlessly witty, self-punishing, detesting nature and commonsense, a fake Irishman affecting an upper-class English accent, Oscar Wilde moves towards a final confrontation with Sir Edward Carson. As Carson tries desperately to create a future for Ulster Unionism, Wilde mocks the contradictions on which he and Carson are impaled. This play is suitable for adults only.
