Robots improve our lives everyday. They makes us more efficient and more self sufficient, but at what cost? How does living amongst them change the way we interact with each other? How do they change our friendships? Our parenting? Our sex lives? Rosa, our psychologist, Ursula, our prostitute and Richard our heart surgeon are all real technological developments; this play explores how we might learn to live with them. The Spill is an evening of new writing, giving one playwright the opportunity to have their new play performed as a rehearsed reading in front of a live audience. Monday Club work with the successful playwright to source a director and a cast of actors for an intensive one day rehearsal period, culminating in a performance at the Old Red Lion Theatre on the same evening.
