Troubled by nighmares and struggling to make sense of it all, Sylvia yearns to step into Diana's shoes as a champion of the poor and needy. But then she meets Ed, a small time photographer with a criminal past, who recognises an opportunity when he sees one. Meanwhile, across town in a long stay hostel for the homeless, Raye, a young transvestite, has made his room a shrine to Diana which doesn't go down well with Annie, the ex-prostitute who has to share it with him. Sylvie holds the key to Raye's dreams. Ed has the power to wreck it all.
