Based on the true-life tale of the Rev. Harold Francis Davidson, rector of Stiffkey, who by his own admission was responsible for helping over 1000 fallen women, from the streets of London stand back up. How much of this help was hands-on became a matter of controversy when accused of 'Cavorting with Prostitutes' he was defrocked in 1932. Trying desperately to keep his family afloat and clear his name, he took to his first love - Show business! Harley depicts a world of starving brides and ugly women who shine under the lights.
