Details

Adelaide wants to make her mom's life-story mythic. But when she invokes the help of Penelope, the legendary queen from Ancient Greece, it soon unravels as they unpick the systems of storytelling that have trapped women for millennia. Penny is a mother's biography told by her daughter with the help of a live, long-distance phonecall to the States. Exploring the value of the myths we inherit, Maude's first full-length devised show stitches together a kitschy, camp patchwork of folksy Americana, old Hollywood cinema, and oral tradition that will make you want to call your mom.
