The planning of a puritanical budget should not be undertaken by ministers who still have a skeleton or two in the closet! Such, sets the scene for this farcical romp with multiple doors, mistaken identities, rampant confusions, amorous undertones and various states of undress! The second week in September sees two charities, each celebrating 60 years’ existence this year, unite in attracting public support. Farnworth Little Theatre, a registered charity for many years, presents its first play of the season, the farce Pardon Me, Prime Minister that week, and at the same time the theatre is staging a display for the local branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care, who are hoping to raise public awareness of their work for the terminally ill. The setting for Pardon Me, Prime Minister, by Edward Taylor and John Graham, is No 10 Downing Street, but the stage goings-on are hopefully not typical of the real thing, since they involve young ladies in various stages of undress!
