Mountain Language archiveAn unnamed country. Unnamed guards control an unnamed prison where people banned from using their native language await incarceration for unnamed crimes against the State. Pinter blends absurdism and realism illustrating the harsh reality of modern society and the individual's isolated and powerless state within it. The Royal Court is delighted to be presenting Ashes to Ashes and Mountain Language as part of the Lincon Center Festival's season of Harold Pinter's plays in New York, July 2001.
