Miss Julie and Jean's relationship escalates rapidly to feelings of love and is subsequently consummated. Over the course of the play Miss Julie and Jean battle until Jean convinces her that the only way to escape her predicament is to commit suicide. The directors of Eyes Blue have translated and adapted the play from the original Swedish script to take on a new relevance and directness to the modern language. Eyes Blue version of the play focuses on the themes of social position and sexual domination, incomprehension and insanity. It examines the fine line between love and hate, entwined passions in this battle of the sexes.
