Miss Julie; The London Version archiveAugust Strindberg's Miss Julie is a play about lust and remorse. Moreover, it is a play about inequality, about status and power. Julie wants nothing else than to be one of the ?common' people, while John aspires wealth and riches. The play is a dance of power between these two young lovers. Peckham having been one of the hotspots of last year's riots, it's no wonder the company found the story highly relevant. As part of the production, director Vernon Douglas has lead workshops with local youth groups, and some of these young people will be starring in the midsummer night's dance in the performance. Running time: 1hr 30mins
