Mind Your Head archiveInside every adolescent brain, 86 billion neurons connect and collide to produce the most frustrating, chaotic and exhilarating changes that will ever happen to us. Each evening show will feature Brainstorm, exploring the complexities of the adolescent brain in a unique performance conceived by a playwright, a neuroscientist and partially devised by the LYT cast themselves. Brainstorm will be paired with a selection of short scenes by the Traverse Young Writers who have responded to themes of the science and biology behind emotions, and nature verses nurture. hat does happiness mean? Is it material or emotional? Controlled by circumstances or temperament? The Saturday matinee (10 March) will also feature work from the Traverse Young Writers as well as a special performance of Mr Blue Sky, first developed for Chrysalis festival. Devised by the company of young people it tackles teenage happiness, an all too real struggle for a generation so often dismissed as 'snowflakes'. Lyceum Youth Theatre and Traverse Young Writers present Mind Your Head, a double bill of performances which examines the hot topic of mental wellbeing for young people today.
