Macbeth archiveThe Scottish Play - theatrical types consider saying its name to be unlucky! Thrust into power by his overwhelming desires and an over ambitious wife, Macbeth finds his only security is to murder and murder again. From "When shall we three meet again" to "is this a dagger I see before me" a powerful Shakespearean drama. In a land almost afraid to know itself, in a country where unnatural deeds are commonplace, and where the night is filled with a restless ecstasy, Shakespeare s tragedy of ambition and guilt unfolds. Platform 4 s taut psychodrama crackles with a wild electricity, brought alive by the sonic experiments of composer and guitarist Bic Hayes and sound designer Jules Bushell. Characters appear and disappear from the shadows as part of a nightmarish vision, played out under an immense canopy of darkness.
