Miles Coombes has reached 'that stage' in life. Youth is slipping away; middle age beckons. Perhaps it's time to take one last plunge, embark on the romantic adventure of a lifetime? After all, his wife Rowena never seems to stop having extra-marital romantic adventures - with half the men in the village as far as Miles can determine. As for his kids, they don't even know he's there half the time. They probably wouldn't even miss him for a month or two. Miles plans the holiday of a lifetime - all he needs now is a sympathetic companion to share his romantic scheme. But secret longings can be highly personal things; indeed one man's dream is another woman's nightmare - as Miles is to find out to his cost.
