A tragic love story, originally from Persia and in the same mould as Romeo and Juliet, the legend of Layla, and her lover driven insane by rejection and obsession, has inspired work as diverse as Bollywood movies and Eric Clapton's song of the same name. Reuniting many of the same artistic team, Layla Majnun will be a piece of total theatre staged in a magically transformed Arena Theatre. The piece will be presented by a large company of dancers, musicians and actors - an exciting mix of top professionals and talented members of the local community.
