Welcome to the world of theatrical politics and in-fighting; to the lascivious, cursing, bickering, backstage life at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. It is 1773 and struggling Irish playwright Oliver Goldsmith wants the great actor/manager David Garrick to produce his risky new play She Stoops to Conquer. Will Garrick agree or will he be swayed by his patron who prefers a safer, less radical, comedy without jokes written by a clergyman?
