Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill archiveThe story of Billie Holiday. It's around midnight in a small bar in south Philadelphia, March 1959, and Billie Holiday is making one of her last appearances. In intimate surroundings she begins her evening's cabaret and between her songs gradually pours out the stories of her life, the heartaches and the triumphs.
