Details
Located in an absurd waiting room, lit by the bluish glow of hundreds of x-rays, the show is populated by a cast of characters face to face with the joys and limitations of their own bodies. We meet a cast of doctors, nurses and patients: a love-sick consultant who speaks in obtuse jargon; a tired and emotionally exhausted doctor who rips her notes to shreds; a woman ignored by staff who resorts to bizarre self-help treatments; a coma patient who tells us his secrets; and a nurse who brings a carnivelesque spirit onto the ward. The stories they tell are comic and disturbing, colliding in a crescendo of short scenes, images and tableaux to create a funny beautiful moving portrait of how we relate to our own flesh and bones.
