Kinder K archiveKinder K is a new Norwegian play questioning the consequences of gene technology and what makes a life "worthy of living". It's 1939, and a German couple are desperate for help from the government. Unable to bear the shame of their situation they humbly request from the F?hrer his permission to eradicate the blight on their happiness: their disabled new-born, Gerhard. Gerhard would become the first of thousands murdered by the Nazi regime's Action T4 'mercy killings'. In 2017, He and She are expecting their first child. But as the tests come back, they realise something's wrong. They have the choice to end the pregnancy, but is a ?sorting society' really any different from T4? Exploring how the choices we make - or don't make - stain our lives, Kinder K questions what makes us human in today's genome-revolution and what it means to show compassion.
