Details
Bungling impresario Samuel Butler finally takes control of the family touring troupe after the death of his father, the famous actor manager. Whilst Samuel aspires to theatrical greatness, the actors have ambitions of their own. Passions erupt in this charismatic comedy of disenchanted dreams and romantic ideals where love and truth are prizes to be fought over and the writer is left to fall on his quill. Celebrated Yorkshire poet and performer Ian McMillan adds his own unique ingredient to a diverse creative mix. The cast also includes two of the UK’s leading actors with Downs syndrome. This hugely entertaining new play combines period drama, contemporary dance, live music and poetry with a large dollop of theatrical mockery.
