In London, thirty-something Alex is in crisis about her man, her mother and her flat-mate. In Yorkshire Livvy walks out with the calamitous Arthur, but wants to run away with the Great Fabrizio. In Flames dances between the lives of these two women, who are related to each other but separated by the century.
