4am in a nightclub in London: crushed among thousands, dancing to lasers and exploding vibrations. 4pm on a beach in Sri Lanka: alone with the sounds from a crackling radio and the enormity of the Indian Ocean. Inspired by T.S Eliot's poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, If what I hear is true is a play that moves between London's crowded nightlife and a deserted beach in Sri Lanka, exploring how people need to escape from an increasingly confusing world.
