I Shot Dirty Den archiveNot only did Pavel Douglas play Gregory Mantel, the man who shot Dirty Den, he also has a heart-breaking tale to tell about his upbringing in Poland. This fabulous new one man show follows three stories that come together for a life-affirming finale. A fictitious Pavel sits unemployed in his flat -constantly on the phone to an agent who can only offer the most humiliating of roles. Pavel then tells us the true story of his role in Eastenders and his anecdotes from stage and screen. He also unravels the mystery of his Polish upbringing and his separation from his father. These stories all come together with an unexpected twist as Pavel realises if they can rewrite Eastenders, he can rewrite his own past. The play was developed by Andy Burden and Pavel Douglas in association with The Natural Theatre Company and with support from The Rondo Theatre Bath and The Tobacco Factory Bristol.
