Details
This brilliantly sharp and witty one act play focuses on charismatic compulsive gambler Erie Smith. Manhattan, 1928. The lobby of a small, second-rate hotel, in the late, late hours. Erie returns after a five-day bender, all faded glamour and unsubstantiated, maudlin boasting. Six days ago he attended the funeral of the hotel's night clerk, Hughie. In a mood to ramble, he's left with no-one to talk to but the new night clerk Charlie Hughes, no relation.
