Hind Da Rakha archiveChronicling the ninth Guru's life story, this gripping play starts in Amritsar 1621 with the birth of Tyaga Mal, later be known as Tegh Bahadur (brave sword wielder), and explores the founding of Anandpur Sahib (City of Punjab). In a turbulent time when Emperor Aurangzeb forced Hindus to convert in Hindustan, Kashmiri Pandits travel to Anandpur to meet Guru Tegh Bahadur for guidance. Bahadur passes on the message to Emperor Aurangzeb that if he succeeds in converting, then all the Kashmiri Pandits will willingly accept conversion. But what will Guru Tegh Behadur have to sacrifice to keep the faith of this community alive? Marking the 400th birthday of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Punjabi Theatre bring you this thought-provoking retelling of Punjab history, inspired by facsinating true-life events.
